Maestro’s Message 2020-2021

“During these unprecedented times the York Chamber Ensemble endeavors to keep live orchestral music thriving and continue to bring community together through innovative and engaging experiences. Together with the Aurora Public Library and the Canada-wide celebration “Culture Days” we are delighted to bring our audience a virtual concert of our favourite transcriptions for string quartet. This season will also include live intimate concerts, featuring such artists as pianist Shoshana Telner performing Mendelssohn’s Piano Concert no. 2 in a special version accompanied by string orchestra. Since circumstances can evolve on a daily basis, please stay tuned and connected: you never know when a live or virtual concert will pop-up! We look forward to making music together through this extraordinary season and I look forward to interacting with you in person and/or online!”

Covid update – June 2020

To all our Friends,

We are experiencing difficult and unsettling times.  Our government’s initiatives are working diligently to help return lives to what we know as normal. The timeline for this however is still uncertain. We as a community and an orchestra will be resilient and supportive to assist in making that happen.

For the time being, we have cancelled our concerts until further notice. When the physical isolation period ends we will look forward to our 2020-2021 season.

In the meantime, we are busy planning our 20th season program.

“ YCE 20 Years Together”.

Stay safe. Practice physical distancing and wash your hands.

We will see you all shortly.
